Gabrielle Logan, MSc

Gabrielle recently started her PhD in the College of Community and Global Health at the University of Manitoba in 2025. She has over a decade of research experience primarily in clinical epidemiology, focusing on chronic pain research, health care utilisation, systematic review and meta-analysis, mental health, and perioperative research. Her training is in both quantitative and qualitative methods, from RCTs to reflexive thematic analysis. She holds a BSc Honours from Dalhousie University, and an MSc in Clinical Epidemiology from Memorial University of Newfoundland. Gabrielle has worked as the Research Coordinator in the Department of Anesthesiology, Pain, and Perioperative Medicine at the University of Manitoba since 2019 and joined the CARe RTP team in 2026. Current research interests are anchored in how mental health, physical health, and adverse childhood experiences interact with one another, and influence healthcare use.

Research
Broadly, Nicole’s research interests include early family dynamics and adversity as prospective risk factors for poor mental health and mental disorder in children and youth, modifiable health behaviours (e.g., physical activity), social determinants of health (e.g., early childhood experiences, sexual and gender identity), and the study of causal processes (e.g., mediational pathways).
